Beginning with 2025, the Board of Supervisors (Board) has maintained their oversight of the investment of funds in the County Treasury. The Board-approved Orange County Investment Policy provides the structure for the prudent investment of these funds and identifies the responsibilities of the County Investment Manager, which is with the County Executive Office. Prior to 2025, the Board delegated its authority to the Treasurer-Tax Collector. It is important to note that although the responsibility has shifted, the dedicated staff responsible for oversight of the investments and monitoring activity has not changed. In addition, the Investment Oversight Committee, established March 2025, serves as an advisory committee to the Board and provides an independent review over the County’s investment activities.
